		<description>I heartily agree that getting multiple bids can be a great thing.  If nothing else, it allows you to see different business models in action as they present their information, and handle the bid process.  This can say quite a bit for the organization and professionalism for the company.  

On my end (a contractor) the better and more detailed the plans, the cleaner and quicker the bid can be.  If the budget is tight, getting a contractor on board early can help define the budget early on so that expectations can be realized.  

P.S. I use Basecamp for our &quot;binder.&quot; It works extremely well.</description>
